JUNE IS DEDICATED TO MEN’S HEALTH

I’m spinning this in a different direction and instead of chatting about men’s health, I’ll enlighten you on their most played down quality in a man, their SENSE OF HUMOR.
MEN, MEN, MEN, that phrase instantly brings to mind the Two and a Half Men theme song, the one that just repeats “men, men, men, men, manly men” like it’s trying to hypnotize you. Clearly, I won’t quote the full lyrics, I only have 350 words to fit into my mind mapping here, but the vibe is unmistakable and the show is hysterical. I love the show. Who is with me?
Perhaps, one will argue, the character Charlie is a womanizer and a drunk. Or some will say, he is all that with a good heart. He took his brother and nephew under his wing during a difficult time. To me, the character has an impeccable sense of humor, makes his audience laugh, has a good heart and a is a bit of a replica of James Bond, without fighting and saving a country. Loves women and a cocktail. Not a womanizer, just simply funny. Look at the Golden Girls, no one ever thought Blanche was a man chaser.
To me, a sense of humor is the most important characteristic in a man and one of the most underrated superpowers they have. One ordinary comment can change into something hilarious, warm, welcoming and ice-breaking. Men have a way of using humor that feels both effortless and deeply intentional, even when they pretend it’s not. The jokes, timing, and their playful teasing become a language of its own, make you bond with them and quite often soften hard moments with a lot of tension.
It can also lead to intimacy. He’s letting you into his world, showing you the version of himself he doesn’t show to everyone, and he is creating a moment that feels innocent, safe and shared.
Perhaps, subconsciously, I’m talking about my beloved better half, love of my life, Jeff, and his sarcastic, flawless sense of humor, who makes me laugh. And as someone told me a long time ago, “15 minutes of laugh, substitutes a pound of carrots.”
La Dolce Vita! Happy June! Don’t forget to LAUGH, it’s so good for you!
Until next month!
