Family Medicine at UPMC St. Margaret earned three national and statewide recognitions across resident training, patient experience and physician leadership, continuing to set the standard for comprehensive, community-focused care and medical education. The UPMC St. Margaret Family Medicine Residency Program ranks No. 1 in Pennsylvania for the third consecutive year by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), based on the aggregate performance of graduating residents on their board certification exam over a five-year period. The program ranked first among 60 family medicine residency programs in Pennsylvania and placed in the top 2 percent nationally, ranking 15th nationally out of 840 programs in the United States.
The Sewickley Public Library has been awarded $750,000 through the Keystone Grants for Public Library Facilities program to support the redesign and renovation of its first-floor spaces. The project will enhance accessibility, functionality and the overall visitor experience for patrons.

In 2026, Dr. Karen Schogel and Dr. Barbara Fardo are celebrating two meaningful milestones for their practice. They are marking 25 years of dedicated service to their patients and community, reflecting a strong legacy of compassionate, comprehensive care. This milestone year also welcomes an exciting new chapter, as Dr. Rachelle Atrasz joins the practice in owner-ship. In recognition of this growth, Schogel and Fardo Family Medicine has become Schogel, Fardo, Atrasz and Associates, honoring both the practice's history and its future.
