The Michael Mackie Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating inclusive, adaptive experiences for children with disabilities, announces the addition to its Michael’s Victory Players (MVP) program. The Hoops & High Fives Adaptive Basketball Program, in partnership with Fitness 4 Focus North Hills, will host a community celebration event, MVP: Madness at the Pine Community Center.
Building on the success of its MVP Adaptive Football initiative, The Michael Mackie Project continues to set the standard for inclusive recreation in the region. Designed for children and teens of all abilities, Hoops & High Fives invites participants to build skills, confidence, and friendships both on and off the court in a fun, supportive, and empowering environment.

The adaptive basketball program is a six-week series beginning on January 13 at the Pine Community Center. Over six weekly sessions, athletes will learn basketball fundamentals, practice teamwork, and celebrate their unique abilities in a safe, encouraging space explicitly designed for differently abled players and their families.
“Our mission has always been about giving every child the chance to experience typical activities in an inclusive, joyful way,” said Audrey Mackie, founder/president of The Michael Mackie Project. “Basketball is just the next step in our growing lineup of programs that empower kids to shine and have a blast.”
The program will be hosted in collaboration with Fitness 4 Focus North Hills, a trusted leader in adaptive fitness and performance training. Together, they’re creating a space where athletes can grow stronger, more confident, and more connected through the game.
The excitement culminates in MVP: Madness on March 21 at the Pine Community Center, a special community event bringing together players, families, volunteers, and supporters for a day of basketball, inclusion, and high-energy fun. The event will feature adaptive games, interactive activities, and plenty of opportunities for hoops and high fives.
“The Michael Mackie Project is redefining what’s possible for adaptive sports in our community,” said Michael Shipper, owner of Fitness 4 Focus North Hills. “We’re thrilled to be part of an initiative that celebrates ability, inclusion, and joy at every level.”
With each program, The Michael Mackie Project affirms its role as the organization leading the way in adaptive, inclusive programming for the differently abled community. Its vision is simple and powerful: every child, every ability, always included.
